Jennie Van Wyk

2015 Beneficiary

Jennie Van Wyk, daughter of Ruthanne and the late Marvin Van Wyk and L-S Class of 1986 graduate, was hit by an oncoming car on January 24, 2014. She battled for a year with pain, treatment, hospitalizations, and multiple surgeries. In January of 2015, the right leg was amputated just below the right knee. She continued to need physical therapy after that and will forever need prosthetic replacements. The other driver had insurance, but not nearly adequate enough to pay the extensive medical expenses or lost wages.
