Sophia Bell
2016 Beneficiary
In many ways, Sophia is your average 3-year-old that enjoys gymnastics, dancing, and adventurous playtime. However, she was diagnosed at 12 days old with a rare, life-threatening genetic disease. Cystic Fibrosis affects the mucous of the lungs, sinuses, pancreas, and other organs. Sophia started and ended her day with preventative treatment involving nebulizer medications and an airway clearance vest. She takes up to 18 enzyme capsules daily to help her absorb the nutrients of the food. Sophia follows up frequently with her specialists to keep her healthy with preventative care, treatments, proper diet, and exercise. Sophia is the daughter of David and Vicky (Collins) Bell, and lives in Sully along with her older brother, Jacob.
