Tom Sheets

In June of 2018, Tom Sheets of New Sharon was told he had Adenocarcinoma - Stage 4 colon cancer. 

 

After two surgeries to remove cancer cells, he was faced with 12 rounds of chemotherapy. As of

February 2019, cancer had been in remission. A nine-month checkup in November of ’19 showed

that cancer had returned, this time more aggressively, appearing in his liver and adrenal glands.

Chemotherapy was needed again and he’s faced more tests to determine what treatment options

are available for him. 

 

Tom and his wife Mary have four children, Kelsie and her husband Ryan Parton, who live in Oskaloosa,  Kiegan & Colin Watts of Montezuma, Brynna and Jake Vande Noord of Lynnville, and Carly Steele of Tiffin.  Tom and Mary have been blessed with two grandchildren, Lauren Vande Noord and Maverick Watts. 

 

After 28 years working in law enforcement, Tom retired in July of 2016 and worked at Terpstra Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling of Lynnville. Tom passed away on January 24, 2021, at 56 years old.
